Training and Behaviour
Client Responsibilities

Clients must provide full and accurate information about their dog’s health, behaviour, vaccination status, and history.

Dogs must arrive wearing a secure collar or harness and be on a fixed-length lead (no retractables).

Clients are expected to arrive on time, prepared, and bring all required equipment and treats.

The Client is responsible for continuing training at home to reinforce skills taught during sessions.

Children under 16 must be supervised during sessions and should not handle the dog without guidance.

Clients must keep their dog under control before, during, and after each session, particularly in public spaces.
-
Aggressive or reactive behaviour must be disclosed in advance; failure to do so may result in cancelled sessions without refund.

Clients must respect our Trainer’s professional judgment during sessions and follow provided advice.
-
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service if a Client repeatedly disregards safety or training protocols.
-
If attending group classes, dogs must be social and able to work in the presence of other dogs and people without issue.
Payment Terms

Payment must be made in full [at time of booking / prior to the first session] to secure your slot.
-
We accept [list accepted payment methods, e.g., cash, card, bank transfer, PayPal, etc.].
-
Payment plans may be available for certain packages by prior agreement only.
-
All prices are inclusive/exclusive of VAT where applicable (clarify your VAT status).
-
Unpaid balances after 7 days may incur a £10 late fee.
-
Further delays beyond 14 days may result in referral to a collections agency and additional fees.
-
We do not accept partial payments unless previously agreed in writing.
-
Packages are non-transferable and non-refundable once training begins.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
-
Cancellations must be made with at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid a full charge.
-
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before a session will be charged at full rate.
-
One reschedule per session is allowed if 48 hours’ notice is provided.
-
No-shows or missed sessions without notice are charged in full and not eligible for rescheduling.
-
Group classes cannot be rescheduled individually; missed sessions are forfeit.
-
Clients must cancel by phone, text, or email to ensure the cancellation is received.
-
In the event of trainer illness, injury, or emergency, we will reschedule at no extra cost.
-
Extreme weather or unsafe conditions may result in a session being postponed for safety reasons.
-
Prepaid packages or sessions must be used within [e.g., 3 or 6 months] or they will expire.
-
Repeated last-minute cancellations (3 or more) may result in refusal of future bookings.
Behavioural Policy & Dangerous Dogs

Owners must disclose any history of aggression, reactivity, or bite incidents prior to training.
-
Dogs subject to the Dangerous Dogs Act must be muzzled and securely handled at all times.
-
The trainer reserves the right to refuse or end a session immediately if a dog poses a safety threat.
-
Training may be paused or adjusted if a dog is showing signs of extreme fear, stress, or arousal.

In some cases, a vet referral may be recommended
-
Dogs must never be handled in a way that causes pain, fear, or distress.
-
Aggressive incidents during group training may result in removal from the group and switch to 1-to-1s.
-
Clients are liable for any damage or injury caused by their dog to property, people, or other animals.
-
Any dog-to-dog incidents will be assessed case-by-case; owners of both dogs must cooperate fully.
-
Ongoing aggressive behaviour without progress may result in service termination.
Liability & Insurance

All training is undertaken at the client’s own risk. The Trainer accepts no responsibility for injury, illness, or loss.
-
Clients are responsible for their dog’s behaviour and safety at all times, including in public training areas.
-
We are insured for public liability; however, this does not replace your responsibility as a dog owner.
-
The Trainer is not liable for any damage your dog causes to property, vehicles, or other animals.
-
It is recommended that all clients carry third-party pet insurance in case of unexpected incidents.
-
We are not responsible for theft, loss, or damage to personal items brought to sessions.
-
Any incidents must be reported immediately so appropriate action can be taken.
-
If your dog causes injury to another person or animal, you must take full legal responsibility.
-
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Trainer against all claims, actions, or proceedings arising from your dog’s conduct.
-
Our training facility or chosen location must be respected—any damage caused will be charged accordingly.
Training Results & Expectations

Training success depends on consistency, commitment, and reinforcement outside of sessions.
-
We do not guarantee specific results or timelines, as progress varies between dogs.
-
Regular practice and follow-through at home are essential for long-term success.
-
Homework may be assigned between sessions and must be completed to ensure continued improvement.
-
Dogs that regress or plateau may require re-evaluation
-
Progress may be slower in cases of trauma, extreme fear, or ingrained behavioural issues.
-
Clients are expected to provide feedback and communicate any struggles so we can adapt training plans.
-
We reserve the right to refer complex cases to a veterinary behaviourist.
-
Continued aggression or lack of owner engagement may lead to the discontinuation of training.
-
Training works best as a partnership—we’re here to support you every step of the way
Media & Data
-
We may take photos or videos during sessions for training records or promotional use.
-
Clients must notify us in writing if they do not consent to their dog being photographed or filmed.
-
Any content shared online will never include personal identifying information unless permission is given.
-
We may use footage for educational purposes, presentations, or social media with respect to the dog’s welfare.
-
Training notes and records are kept securely and confidentially in line with GDPR regulations.
-
Client contact details will only be used for appointment reminders, updates, or offers unless opted out.
-
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.
-
You may request access or deletion of your data at any time.
-
In rare cases, we may be legally required to share data if requested by veterinary or animal control authorities.
-
Footage from group sessions may show other clients’ dogs—please respect the privacy of all participants.
Confidentiality & Professional Conduct

We maintain strict confidentiality about all client information, case history, and behavioural issues.
-
We will not discuss your dog’s case with other clients unless consent is given (e.g. shared case studies).
-
Clients are expected to treat the Trainer and other clients with courtesy and respect.
-
Abuse, harassment, or rude behaviour towards the Trainer or other participants will result in immediate dismissal.
-
We aim to provide a non-judgmental and supportive training environment.
-
Clients agree not to record sessions (audio/video) without written permission.
-
We reserve the right to end the business relationship if trust or mutual respect is broken.
-
We may decline service to individuals who do not follow guidance, use harsh handling, or disregard dog welfare.
-
Clients must not replicate or resell our training materials or content without permission.
-
Any feedback or concerns should be raised privately with the Trainer—not publicly or during sessions
Terms and Conditions
Dog Walking
PICK UP
A pick-up time will be pre-arranged with you as per agreed during consultation.
Please leave leads out in a visible area. We will provide leads if required.
Your dog will be taken on an agreed walk either locally or transported to a park in our van.
DROP OFF
We will walk your dog for the agreed time and drop them off at your house 5 minutes before the hours up.
This is to allow us to dry paws, get your dog comfortable and give fresh water and treats or food if specified.
If for some reason we are delayed we will keep you updated.
Karina's Dog Walking takes the privacy of our clients very seriously and will never share or disclose any of your details to third parties, with the exception of your nominated vet. You may have access to any of your data at any given time.
Our Privacy Policy is required as a part of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), it is necessary for us to inform you of the information we keep about you and your dog, how we use it, and how it is stored.
We store the following information about your dog on their consent forms and which will be locked away securely each night or if sent digitally they will be secured by password on our computer.
Your name, address, email address, and emergency contacts, all of which you will have provided in your consent forms.

Your dog's age, breed, colour, gender, etc.

If your dog has likes/dislikes during their walks

If your dog has been nervous, excited, or aggressive during their walks

Any medical issues that you have provided us with?

The amount you spend on walks with us.
We will only use your personal information in the following ways:-

to respond to any inquiries made by yourself to us

to send appointment reminders via email and text message

to send any special vouchers or promotions
-
for market research purposes

for record keeping purposes

to deal with enquiries and complaints
-
to contact you about your appointment, dog collection or drop off, cancellations, rescheduling, or emergencies

To ask you for a review
It is an explicit requirement that we have a minimum of your name, address, and phone number so that we can send walk updates reminders/changes or if we urgently need to contact you when your dog is in our care.
Unfortunately, we CAN NOT accept a dog for dog walking without valid, up-to-date contact details.
Your name and contact number will also be stored on my mobile phone to enable me to contact you in cases of emergencies, walk updates, and appointment reminders.
No other details are held on my mobile phone.
This information will not be available to anyone other than me and will be protected by a passcode only I have access to.
You may ask to view your details at any time.
If you would like your information destroyed please let us know and we will do so at your request.
Any non-returning customer details will be destroyed within 1 year of non-attendance on walks
We like to take pictures of our walks to share on our socials, we will only share if you have agreed for us to do so in our consent forms. All photos taken are copyright of Karina’s Dog walking.
Client authorization & terms 2026
1. I agree to provide keys / arrange for keys to be available for Karina’s Dog Walking dog walking / pet pop in visit arrangements.
2. I authorize Karina’s Dog Walking to obtain any emergency veterinary care that may be necessary during the time spent with my pet. Every effort will be made to contact the owner prior to obtaining emergency care. I accept responsibility for any charges related to this emergency care. I also authorize Karina’s Dog Walking to use an alternative veterinarian in the event my regular veterinarian is unavailable.
3. I agree to compensate Karina’s Dog Walking for any additional fees for providing emergency care, as well as any expenses incurred for unexpected visits, transportation, housing, food, or supplies.
4. I understand I will be responsible for any medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to the Dog walker or other persons by the pet. I agree to cover and hold harmless Karina’s Dog Walking in the event of a claim by any person injured by the pet. I accept full liability for any loss or damage caused by my dog whilst being walked.
5. I agree to notify Karina’s Dog Walking of any concerns/complaints within 24 hours of any appointments.
6. I understand I must state if my pet shows aggression in any way. I understand I must fully disclose any quality or characteristic problems that might make my dog not suitable for walks. Karina’s Dog Walking will not care for pets that imperil their safety or others.
Karina’s Dog Walking Responsibilities
7. Karina’s Dog Walking agrees to provide the services stated in this agreement in a reliable, kind, and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services and as an express condition thereof, the client specifically waives and relinquishes any and all claims against Karina’s Dog Walking, its employees, or assignments, except those occurring from the negligence of the Dog walker.
8. Karina’s Dog Walking accepts no responsibility for the security of the premises or loss if other individuals have access to the home during the term of this agreement. During all assignments, dog walking will only be carried out by Karina’s Dog Walking owner or employees, unless prearranged with the client. Karina’s Dog Walking accepts no responsibility for damages to the property if other people have access to the property.
9. Karina’s Dog Walking will not let any dog off his/her lead unless the owner has given written consent.
10. If unforeseen circumstances occur when Karina’s Dog Walking cannot attend to your dog's needs due to illness etc, you will be notified straight away.
11. Karina’s Dog Walking is not responsible for damage sustained by a pet escaping because of a faulty lead/collar or a collar that is not properly fitted.
12. Karina’s Dog Walking will not be liable for the injury, disappearance, death, or fines of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.
13. It is clearly understood that Karina’s Dog Walking shall not be held responsible for any damage to the client's property, or that of others, caused by the client's pets during the period in which they are in its care. The client has advised Karina’s Dog Walking of all situations, which will relieve it of liability for damage.
14. This agreement is valid for all future walks until a new agreement is signed.
Karina’s Dog Walking reserve the right to terminate this agreement at any time, at its sole discretion. The client may terminate this agreement at any time with one month's notice.
15. Karina’s Dog Walking agree to love and care for your pet whilst you are away or at work.
Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled walk will incur a charge of 50% of the total fee

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled walk will be charged at 100%
Payment
This can be done by cash or bank transfer. Cash payments may be left weekly on the first walk of the week but must be paid on the last day of the week
Late Payment Fee
All monthly payments will be invoiced a week before the last walk of the calendar month with payment due within 48 hours. A charge of £10 per week will applied for any overdue payments.
Leads
It is extremely important that suitable leads are provided. If your dog pulls excessively, please provide a lead to cater to this. If suitable leads are not provided appropriate leads owned by the dog walker will be used. If you do not wish this to happen please inform the dog walker.
Damage to Property and Equipment
The Client shall be held fully liable for any damage or destruction caused by their dog to any equipment, gear, or clothing. In the event of such damage, the Client agrees to reimburse the Karina’s Dog Walking for the full replacement cost of the item. If the exact item is no longer available or out of stock, the Company reserves the right to source a comparable alternative of equivalent quality and value.
Weather
Heat
When the weather is warmer and it's evident that dogs are struggling in the heat; hour walks will be shortened accordingly. The visit will still be 1 hour in duration but walks may be shortened to enable Karina’s Dog Walking to cool the dogs down and make sure they are comfortable before leaving.
When over 20 degrees walks will be changed to a pop in with the add in of frozen enrichment, training and play
Fresh cool water will always be available whenever the dogs require it
Rain and wind
Walks will be normal unless winds are gale force, in this case, owners will be informed that walks may have to be shortened in order for Karina’s Dog Walking to reach all dogs booked in for walks due to traffic disruption.
Freezing, ice, and snow
If the weather is below freezing and paths are icy walks may be cancelled due to safety issues.
Dog Walker days off
7 days' notice will be given for any days off the dog walker will be absent from walks.
